I visited Costa Rica in August and split my time between viewing wild orchids and fishing. Peter Gorinsky was my guide for both. We visited a number of collectors and also spent time in the jungle. It was amazing from an orchid perspective. Peter also introduced me to the Machata (Brycon guatamalansis) which readily takes a popper. During the next week a 4 pounder was caught. We also caught Tarpon on the Cano Negro (river) 200kms from the sea. The following week we would move down to Manzamilo to do some serious fishing for tarpon in the sea at the mouth of the Gandoco and Sixaolo rivers. That is another story which I will post separately.
