It is never easy starting up fly fishing as a youngster. The casting bit can be difficult and if the club insists that there are no short cuts like being allowed to use fixed spool reels and spinning tackle to start with it takes hours and even days of perseverance before one gets even a hint of a take. But in the end it is very satisfying when after all the hard graft a really good one is netted like this 1,28kg rainbow from Dam 7 at TFFC’s Miiddelpunt club waters. Submitted by:Peter Arderne
