Trout are certainly moving in Sand River Dam with the very much cooler conditions. Unfortunately we lost quite a bit of our stock in last year’s floods when they went the spillway during winter so the fishing iis a bit slow at the moment However, I will be collecting about 800 yearlings next month from Martin Davies in Grahamstown which means transporting them in 1 000 litres of water with oxygen feed. This should rectify the stock levels in the dam.

Anthony Kruger, Edward Truter and I visited Baviaanskloof to try for smallmouth bass in the Kouga but blanked completely which was very surprising. The club does try and arrange regular outings but we have nothing scheduled in the next month or so. We had arranged an outing to Thrift but this has been postponed to early spring.
